Wheelchair platform lift - No.10 Old Burlington Street (adjacent to Saville Row)

No.10 Old Burlington Street (adjacent to Saville Row)

Quality of access was the driving force behind the brief within this refurbishment project, where architects had already been appointed and designs approved on what is a listed building. Working closely with the architects, Chase Mobility were able to ensure that regulations and the architectural needs of the client were upheld and delivered.

An exterior automatic door, integrated with the lift control system was designed to compliment the auto-opening gate on the lift with built in anti-trap mechanism. Ease of use and quality of access for disabled passengers as always is of paramount importance.

Toughened glass panels with polished, profile edges and stainless steel posts were designed by Chase to aesthetically fit with third party handrails already in situ. Marble floor and matching stainless trim completes the look while the upper enclosure’s stainless post contains integrated call buttons.

Disabled access products - No. 10 King William Street

No. 10 King William Street

Based on our tried and tested scissor lifts, this low level access platform makes use of manual gates top and bottom with a call station on each level mounted on stainless tubing posts. The lift cab, constructed from frameless, toughened glass panels, specifically requested by the architect, created a problem in how to fit the electrical interlocks without spoiling the clean lines. Chase Mobility designed, manufactured and installed a bespoke solution approved by architect and client.

The lift is finished in marble and stainless steel trim to co-ordinate with the surroundings. The pump unit is located below the lift with access via a removable panel fabricated into the platform for ease-of-maintenance.

Chase Mobility’s bespoke, low-rise access lifts – for situations where restrictive space, regulations or simply aesthetics demand a neat solution.

Aldermanbury Square London EC2

Fronting the prestigious Aldermanbury Square, Chase Mobility designed and installed a disabled access and wheelchair lift to the side of the main stairs. Situated outside and open to the elements, the lift features glass panels with stainless steel finishing trims. With posts and call stations designed to be the same size as the surrounding handrails, the lift neatly finishes off the approach to reception.

Disabled Access & Wheelchair Lifts - Bar Risk

Chase Mobility has completed several lifts for clubs and Pubs. Compared with the quieter environments of most ‘front of house ’areas, bespoke disabled access lifts and wheelchair lifts need to be able to withstand a high level of abuse, typical of busy pub interiors. Whilst being designed to fit in with the surrounding decor, Chase have for example, built lifts using steel frames and aluminum honeycomb infill panels, which provide a robust solution against vandalism.

Attention to detail includes, having no flat surfaces on the lift enclosure, including small pyramids on top of the corner posts to avoid them being used as places where glasses are left. This attention to detail maximizes the reliability of the lifts to ensure that when they are needed, they are actually working.

1Listed Buildings –Bespoke Wheelchair Lifts and Disabled Access

The problem of providing disabled access into listed buildings from the pavement is a difficult one, as no two requirements are likely to be the same. Chase Mobility has designed bespoke wheelchair lifts and disabled access solutions for many sites and a typical challenge is where there is a basement ’void’ between the pavement and the building. Chase provides a lift that fits onto a steel structure designed to fit into a void. If necessary this can be made to allow continued basement access via a staircase. A gate onto the lifts is integrated into the existing handrails (usually black spindles with ornate finials) and the lift itself incorporates matching corner posts and glass infill panels, making the lift effectively ’invisible’ to the casual observer.

All Chase Mobility wheelchair and disabled access lifts are based on our proven quality scissor lifts for unrivalled reliability and service.

Each lift is designed to your exact requirements.
